Adopt a Labrador Retriever / Mixed (short coat)

***********SPECIAL NEEDS - HAS ONLY ONE EYE********** DOB: January 1, 2013  || BREED/COLORING:  Labrador MIX, black with white paws  ||  SIZE: At FIVE months old, Jacqueline weighs about 30lbs - she will likely be 50+lbs as an adult.  || HISTORY:  Jacqueline was witnessed being dumped out of a car in a warehouse district in South Central LA on a weekend when nobody was around. Thankfully the witness happens to be a rescuer.  ||  PERSONALITY: Jacqueline is SUPER affectionate and sweet. She is puppy playful, but only in spurts... otherwise she's a pretty lazy girl (which is a Great Dane trait). ||  TRAINING: Jacqueline will need leash training and at least a basic obedience course. She is already doing FANTASTIC with crate training and housebreaking. She is extremely smart.  ||  WOULD DO BEST:  Jacqueline would do best in a home with another large dog to be her guide and with a family that will spend lots of time loving her, playing with her, and training her. She requires a yard. Because she only has one eye, she is not a dog that can go off-leash hiking and must be kept on leash out in public at all times. || CATS/DOGS/KIDS: Jacqueline is fantastic with big dogs and she would be wondeful with children. At her foster home she does chase the cats - but only to play - and they are teaching her a few lessons (so she would be okay with cats that are used to dogs - but not with cats that would be afraid of her).  ||  VET RECORD :All of our dogs are currently vaccinated, spayed/neutered and microchipped prior to adoption. Jacqueline was born without one of her eyes - it was a birth defect. We will be having the eye socket permanently sewed shut to keep it from getting infected.  ||  AVAILABILITY: This dog is available for adoption now and is being fostered or kenneled in the San Fernando Valley area.
